General Motors has an exhaustive pavilion set up at the 10th Auto Expo.
The blokes at General Motors are definitely thumping to a brand new beat this Auto Expo with what can be described as one of the most extensive stalls at the event. Yes, they've got on display all of 11 concepts and production vehicles arrayed under three different themes for this year. Dubbed Chevrolet Green, Chevrolet Performance and Chevrolet Hot Hatch, the three themes offer a wide variety of eye candy for show goers looking for some hot metal.
Chevrolet Green:
Just as the name suggests this part of Chevrolet's stall is all about green technology. Leading the display here is the much-awaited Chevrolet Volt that has captured the imagination of the automotive world. The Volt is a revolutionary new electric vehicle that has the capability of running purely on electricity for around 64 km on a single charge of its Li-ion battery pack. But unlike conventional hybrids, the power to the Volt's wheels goes only through its electric motors. The petrol engine on board the Volt is used only to run a small generator that in turn charges the Volt's batteries. That's not all - the Volt offers never-before options in personalization, feedback and interaction.
Accompanying the Volt in the Chevrolet Green pavilion is the Spark electric - an all-electric version of GM's Spark small car developed in collaboration with Maini - the company that makes the Reva electric car. Also on display are the Aveo CNG and the Spark LPG.
