Ferrari's new Avatar

29 Jan 2010

Ferrari has unveiled the car it says will take the brand back to Formula One glory. The new 2010 car, the F10, broke cover at the team's base in Maranello, Italy.

With a more aggressive design, the F10 has a similar front wing to that of last year's Red Bull car, whilst the side pods are a unique shape; designed to maximise airflow.

It will be driven by Spanish double world champion Fernando Alonso, and Brazilian Felipe Massa, who will return to his F1 seat for the first time since his life-threatening crash during qualifying for last year's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Felipe Massa will be the first driver to try out the car at Ferrari's private test facility Fiorano later this afternoon.

Hope this season will be very good. Ferrari and Mercedes seem to be at it right from the get go. It will also be interesting to see who Ferrari gives more preference - Massa or Alonso. Kimi was unlucky, initially he had to fight Schumacher within Ferrari and then Massa. It seemed like Kimi had lost the interest to be in F1 and his silent/cool attitude did not help either. | Reply

hi sam kimi is called iceman for a reason. win or loose he is the same. he is unflappable. ferrari didn't understand him.mr ecclestone himself said it's cultural diff. mclaren chief martin whitmarsh said kimi has been underestimated technically. kimi is very quiet so ferrai found it hard to work.mclaren know how to work with kimi but saddly the deal didn't work out. | Reply

ferrari have commited a great sin by forcing kimi out because santander wanted him out because kimi can beat alonso easily.massa beat kimi in 08 because the car was setup to massa'a liking courtesy schumi(kimi and schumi don't really get along). just because of santander's money ferrari have commited this huge mistake. mr.montezmolo should stop day dreaming because something should go horribly wrong or else it's mclaren and mercedes f1 that will fight for title and ferrari's bad times(wanwas) have begun. f1 without kimi is like monaco without yatches | Reply

he he he let's see alonso can win only if mclaren has problems. red bull if they had got merc engines would definetly be the leading but i'am not sure about renault engines. mark my words it's lewis or rosberg. alonso and ferrari run for cover. | Reply

time will tell my friend. nobody in the history of f1 has won a race in dry conditions starting from 17th. suzuka 2005 is regarded and rated as the most exciting race ever. in the past where aerodynamics was not that advanced a driver from 22 could win but in v 10 era due to sophisticated aerodynamics overtaking was as very very rare. in 2005 if you remember alonso won more because of mclaren mercedes than renault because mclaren offerd kimi a terribly unreliable car inspite of that kimi never ever gave up.he lost the title in brazil for no fault of his but still next in japan he gave the performance that only the greatest drivers can deliver.just check it out on youtube man. in 2006 kimi's mclaren was not even a contender. alonso is very good driver but kimi is the most amazingly talented driver. even mr.luca di montezmolo said that in terms of sheer pace kimi is by far the most quickest driver to sit behind the prancing horse. kimi rules that's why even god felt that to fill the void f1 needs schumacher
