| North American Car of the Year 2008-2009 - 'Chevrolet Malibu' North American Car of the Year or NACOTY have been awarded since 1994. The jury is composed of no more than 50 auto writers and broadcasters from across the U.S. and Canada, most of whom have covered the industry and its products for decades. Each juror pays annual dues to cover expenses and is forbidden from doing any work that is paid for by a vehicle manufacturer or its advertising agency. The Chevrolet Malibu took top honors in the 2008-2009 NACOTY. The Malibu was competing for North American COTY honours against the new Honda Accord and 2008 Cadillac CTS. The judges use a point system to determine the winner, and the Malibu achieved the most among the cars at 190, with the CTS fairly close behind at 165 and the Honda firmly in third with 95. |
