Its general knowledge now that automobiles pollute our environment and though there are certain petrol heads out there who say 'Who cares?" it's still important to know that a solution to the matter is indeed the need of the hour.
Automotive giants across the globe have been working on viable solutions and here in India too various automotive majors have taken up the task to make their vehicles cleaner and greener. It's an uphill task, no doubt, but then again, a little fun and frolic can always be thrown in for good cause-such as the "Eco Friendly Car Rally" held in Delhi recently.

The showcase rally saw the industry take part in a jovial spirit as they showcased their eco friendly products. The show stopper had to be the soon to be launched Toyota Prius, which made its first official 'Indian' outing. Apart from the Prius, the line up included the Honda Civic Hybrid, around 20 REVA cars, a Tata Ace Electric & Tata Ace CNG, a Mahindra Scorpio Bio-Diesel, a Maruti Suzuki Swift that boasts of H-CNG technology, and a rather cute mini electric scooterette manufactured by Venus Stampings Pvt. Ltd.
The vehicles made their way through Delhi streets and as onlookers wondered what had overtaken their city, a single statement was made that eco friendly solutions aren't just for the R&D centre but available for the average Joe as well. Whether it's a hybrid drive, alternate fuel or switching to a pure electric setup, the solution to the problem exists and with every single day that passes the answer becomes more viable. The future is here and its time that we embrace it.
