| Ashutosh Dixit was in Delhi recently to inaugurate the first SkodaAuto India Boutique Showroom. Spread across an area of 1200 sq ft, this new showroom concept is a first for the company and has been carried out as a unique brand building measure. Vikram Gour talks to Ashutosh Dixit to gain an understanding as to what the Boutique Showroom is all about and what it spells for Skoda customers. ZW: Could you please elaborate on the Boutique showroom concept? Ashutosh: The Boutique Showroom is a step to bring Skoda customers closer to the brand by providing them with the ambience of luxury and style blended with a level of functionality. Keeping in mind our customer profile, we felt the need to create a set up wherein the customer can access 'touch points' and gain all the information they seek regarding a particular Skoda model. ZW: You spoke about it being an extension of the SkodaAuto brand. Will this showroom also work as an outlet to market SkodaAuto merchandise as well? Ashutosh: Yes. We are looking at getting into that as well. Our Boutique outlets will allow for us to retail some of our merchandise as well, but please remember that customer interaction is our top priority at such outlets. ZW: Just how many boutique showrooms are you looking at? Ashutosh: We are targeting 10 Boutique Showrooms in 5 cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune. These 10 outlets will come into being by 2010 as per our targets. |
